Hydroponics: A New Frontier for Nigerian Youth

Hydroponics is becoming a practical pathway for students and young agripreneurs in urban Nigeria. During the NIAE-SB briefing, teams demonstrated low-cost nutrient film systems built with locally available pipes, small pumps, and recycled containers.

The study compared pilot beds in Lagos and Kano and found that controlled hydroponic setups reduced water usage and improved crop consistency for leafy vegetables.
